National Running Day is Wednesday, June 4. What better way to celebrate than to take part in the weekly SPS Wednesday Night Bridge Run across the Ben Franklin Bridge. Meet at 6th and Race at 7 p.m. on Wednesday for a short but tough 3-mile run across the bridge and back.
The new South Philly Striders t-shirts will be arriving soon, and we will have a special t-shirt pick-up event at Philadelphia Runner (16th and Sansom) on Saturday morning, May 31, at 9 a.m. It will start right after the regularly scheduled Saturday morning run. Philadelphia Runner will open early for us and generously have some orange juice/mimosas and bagels and offer 15 percent off at the store that morning for everyone who comes.
The t-shirts are blue with white lettering for men and gold with dark lettering for women. Nike didn’t have enough stock of any one color to allow both sets of shirts to be of the same color.
If you pre-ordered a shirt, your name should be labeled on the shirt. If you did not pre-order a shirt, there will be a few extras as well. If you can’t make the Saturday pick-up, you can still pick up your shirt at the store in time for the ODDyssey Half Marathon (on June 8).
