New Year’s Day Mummers Parade Setup Run – January 1, 8:15 a.m.

As is annual tradition to ring in the New Year, we will have a Mummers Parade Setup Fun Run on Wednesday, January 1, at 8:15 a.m.  Instead of Front & South, we will start in front of the Mummers Museum (1100 S 2nd Street) at 2nd and Washington.  Just as in prior years, we will run by the Mummers warehouses and sets as they prepare to march down Broad Street.  Be sure to wear your golden sneakers, feathers, and other pieces of flair.

SPS/FBR Holiday Lights Run, December 12

It is that time of year again when the South Philly Striders and Fishtown Beer Runners run the streets of South Philly to enjoy the holiday lights.  Last year, about 200 folks met and participated in the run.

The run starts Thursday, December 12th at Broad and Oregon at 7 PM, where there will be a food drive led by Len DeProspo and the O’Neill family.  Please donate canned and other non-perishable food to benefit Philabundance, which provides food to approximately 65,000 people per week in the Delaware Valley.

The run ends at American Sardine Bar (18th and Federal).  Here is the tentative route.  Everyone is encouraged to come out for this event.  Feel free to wear bells, lights, and holiday costumes.
