The Annual South Philly Striders/Fishtown Beer Runners Holiday Light Run takes place Thursday night, December 13, 2012. Last year, over 100 runners took part. You are encouraged to dress up in festive attire, with lights, bells, etc. Meeting place is Broad and Oregon. This year’s route is 3.5 miles, goes through the illuminated and decorated neighborhoods of South Philly, before ending at American Sardine Bar (18th and Federal). Chances are, Elizabeth Coleman worked out more than you on Sunday, September 30. Cheered on by some friends from SPS and FBR, Elizabeth competed in and finished the Ironman 70.3 Pocono Mountains. Her splits included 41:13 in the swim, 3:06:51 on the bike and 2:19:00 for the 13.1 mile run, for a total of 6:18:20, good enough for 25th in her division and 660th overall. When reached for comment, Elizabeth was reportedly too tired and wanted some food and drink instead. Congratulations!
