Big Achievements by Striders on Sunday

This past Sunday, June 8, was a big day for South Philly Striders’ own Sarah Morrison and Hunter Proctor.

In a field of close to 3,000 runners, Sarah won the women’s division of the ODDyssey Half Marathon in Fairmount Park.  Sarah blitzed through the hilly course  (and avoided Kelly Drive’s numerous potholes) during hot and humid conditions with an official time (more or less) of 1 hour 20 minutes and 10 seconds.

Meanwhile, down in Cambridge, Maryland, Hunter completed his first Ironman 70.3 triathlon at Eagleman.  Hunter swam 1.2 miles, biked 56 miles and ran 13.1 miles in well under 6 hours, which is a very respectable time.  No bike chains were harmed in his endeavor.

SPS (as well as their shared hometown of Chambersburg, Pennsylvania) is proud of their collective accomplishments!
